Hello Erika,

Always enjoy your news letters for we both have similar trains of thought having come from a hospitality background myself.
I have implemented many principles from my past experiences to the clinic I manage today.
In the past, as a corporate manager for a restaurant chain, the main objective was to always be control of current situations. With this believe I personally trained myself in all aspects of operation.
I now find my self in somewhat the same position as that of a number of franchise owners that I had assisted in the past.
I am not a registered physiotherapist and with the ever increasing demand for physiotherapists I find our clinic is faced with the dilemma of trying to satisfy there's demands, that being primarily financial.
After having confronted numerous clinic owners of my concern, I have quickly learned this concern is held by many and could greatly affect the industry as a whole.
What are your thoughts on the matter.

Any suggestions on incentives for front desk staff? I feel as if I pay well, but keeping our receptionists excited about the business and committed to developing new referrals is a constant challenge.

I survey the fees in the Niagara Region annually to help set my fees and also take into consideration what Erica has to say as well. We are above average in fees. For private assessments we charge $75 and for private treatments we charge $55. I just increased the treatment fee in March 2011. We give 45 mins- 1 hr for the assessment and report, and 20-30 mins for treatments.

Very well written article... Just want to add one important aspect to it..

Local marketing is important but so is internet marketing.. nowadays, users like to read about the practice and its reviews before they go to a clinic. So a good idea is to get a website for your clinic and encourage your patients to post reviews (preferably good ones). In addition, use of social networks like Facebook and Twitter is very important in creating a brand image and getting into the community, to reach out to your patients and potential patients.
