Socrates said, “The unexamined life is not worth living.” If this is the case, then surely the unexamined business isn’t worth owning.
The theme for the March Private Practice Business Source Newsletters is assessing your practice. We’ll cover two of the 7 core areas to assess your business: business planning and human resources.
Our businesses – the vehicle that supports us and usually a number of others – rarely get the detailed inspection that our cars do!
Although there are other areas, the two areas that I want you to begin with in assessing or inspecting your business and practice are two of the core building blocks of a solid and sustainable practice.
Assessing your practice will help you take a snapshot of your business at this point in time.
To create a meaningful plan for your business for 2010, it is important to carry out a complete assessment of all of the areas of your business and practice first. Participants of the Advancing Your Actions in 2010 Program will be doing this. If you would like to complete the full assessment of your business, and create a meaningful plan for 2010, be one of only six people who will join in this Program, starting March 25, 2010. Visit this link to get there!
Assess the area of Business Planning by giving a current status rating to each of the statements in this assessment. There is no right or wrong answer. Simply be honest with yourself and rate the truth of each statement.
Rate each statement using one of these criteria:
- Non-Existent
- Needs work
- Well under way
- Excellent
